FORT DODGE — Day 2 of the Iowa High School State Cross Country Championships was Class 1A and Class 2A events.
Ridge View had a pair of runners representing the Raptors. Juniors’ Addy Tesch and Odin Hanson. MMCRU was represented by senior Lucas Braun.
The 5K Class 1A event on the girls side had Tesch lock up a Top-20 individual finish. She posted a time of 19:44.7, earning herself 19th place of of a field of 155 runners.
Hanson finished 93rd place overall with an effort of 17:59.9, This saw the Royals’ Braun finished 73rd place with a 17:44.9 clocking. There was a total of 157 runners in the boy’s 1A race.
In the Class 2A field it saw the Cherokee girls team at state once more. The Braves discovered just how good the rest of the state is. As a team, Cherokee wound up finishing 15th out of 15 schools with a 316 team score. Individually, junior Grace Woodall was the Braves top performer. Woodall finished the race with a 21:07.8 time.
