AMES, Iowa – Addy Brown and Audi Crooks combined for 60 points but it wasn’t enough as Iowa State fell to No. 9 TCU, 82-69, Sunday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.
Brown scored a career-high 31 points and Crooks added 29 for the Cyclones, who fell to 15-9 overall and 6-5 in Big 12 action despite the effort from the outstanding sophomores.
The Cyclone pair became ISU’s first to score 25 in the same game since 2023.
TCU shot 51.7 percent from the field, connected on 12-of-26 three-pointers and got 28 points from Hailey Van Lith to improve to 21-2 overall and 9-1 in conference play, remaining in a tie with Kansas State for first place in the league standings.
How It Happened
TCU got off to a hot start and opened up an 18-5 lead before holding a nine-point edge at the end of the first quarter.
The Cyclones outscored the Horned Frogs, 21-13, in the second quarter, behind a combined 17 points from Crooks and Brown. Kelsey Joens drilled a long three as time expired in the first half to draw the Cyclones back to within one, 37-36. The Horned Frogs were held without a field goal over the final 2:55 of the second quarter.
Crooks had 15 points and Brown added 12 in the first half as the Cyclone duo outdid the TCU pair of Hailey Van Lith (12) and Taylor Bigby (13).
The Cyclones kept it close in the beginning moments of the second half but a 12-4 run by TCU broke open the game.
ISU closed the gap to four points following a pair of Crooks’ free throws midway through the fourth quarter but TCU consistently had an answer.

Brown’s career-high 31 points came on the heels of a 20-point performance in Thursday night’s game against K-State. The sophomore has now scored 20-plus points in three of the last four games. She made 11-of-16 shots from the field in the game.
Crooks reached double figures for the 56th consecutive game, tallying 29 points and six rebounds.
Van Lith (28) led the Horned Frogs, who had four reach double figures. Bigby added five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points.
